She was born October 4, 1931 in Roseland, LA to the late Otto and Esther Gill. She was the beloved wife of Ben O.D. Stevens, from this union two sons were born, Alvin Ben Stevens (Alice) and Charles Wayne Stevens. After O.D.’s death she married Hezzie Elliott Thompson in 1975 and moved to Covington, LA. When the two families joined she came to love her two step-sons, Barry Thompson (Ellouise) and Bruce Thompson (Eugenie). She was the sister of Dedrick Gill (Gayle) of French Settlement, LA and is survived by seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands, Ben O.D. Stevens and Hezzie E. Thompson; one son, Charles Wayne Stevens; one grandson, David Thompson and one great-grandson, Michael Thompson. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. A wake is scheduled for Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 6-9 PM with visiting hours at the funeral home beginning Wednesday at 9:00 AM. Interment at the Roseland-Arcola Cemetery in Roseland, LA will immediately follow services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Covington “Young at Heart” ministry or to the Volunteer Guild at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. ===================
