Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2012/st1207.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Francisco (Frank) Budd Bogran, born January 3, 1927 in New Orleans, the son of the late Concha Bogran and Ferdinand Van Ness Budd. Frank is survived by his wife of 56 years Birdie Ann Waguespack Bogran. Frank is the father of Leslie Ann Bogran Southerland (Michael), Stephen Rene Bogran (Dorinda) and Jeffrey Francis Bogran (Ann). Frank is the grandfather of Vaughan, Marley, Isabelle, Mae and the late Gregory Francisco Bogran. A resident of Covington, LA for the past 53 years, Frank was a graduate of Isidore Newman School and of Tulane University School of Business Administration. Frank was an avid athlete and lettered in all sports at Newman as well as basketball and tennis in college. In his early twenties he became a low handicap golfer and in the early nineteen fifties qualified for the South American Amateur Championships as a member of the team from Panama where he was working at the time. Frank served in the armed forces in World War II as well as Korea. After graduating from Tulane, Frank worked for the United Fruit Co in various capacities in Central and South America. He returned to New Orleans in 1959 and decided to take his family to live in Covington. In business Frank became President of Mississippi Valley Silica Co of Covington and Owner and President of Stanblast Abrasives Inc of Harvey LA. After selling his company to Canadian interests, Frank continued as a corporate consultant until his retirement. He helped establish and served on the boards of various companies in Mexico and the Caribbean, mostly having to do with aggregates and abrasives used by the oil and pipeline industries. Frank was a founding member of the Covington Country Club as well as a member of the Tchefuncta Country Club. Frank was also St Tammany area Chairman of the United Way in 1972 as well as past Chairman of the American Heart Association. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at St Benedict Catholic Church 20370 Smith Road, Covington Louisiana on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be AT THE CHURCH from 9:00 to10:30 AM immediately preceding mass.
