She was the mother of four, grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of five children. The New Orleans native was a longtime Metairie resident and recently a Mandeville resident. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Hopkins; mother, Helen M. Baehr; father, Julius Schick, and stepfather, Ulrich Baehr; sisters, Mildred Roevens and Helen Wheelahan, and brother, the Rev. Julius Schick. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Mary H. and Gary Cantrell, Lyn H. and Walter Watkins and Patti H. and Darren Lavarine; son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. and Lori Hopkins; grandchildren, Jeremy J. Daigle, Danielle W. Fisher, Jonnie A. Baker, Megan W. Burleson, Kelly H. Cutrera, Kimberly J. Hopkins, Michael S. Hopkins, Jackson L. Lavarine and Clair L. Lavarine, and great-grandchildren, Gracie Fisher, Rylee Burleson, Jacob Fisher, Brynlie Mae Burleson and Beau Daigle. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Buddy Noel July 9 at noon, with visitation starting at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mandeville. A memorial Mass immediately will follow, and interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery No. 1 in New Orleans. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for the revitalization and rebuilding of historical architecture and neighborhoods to the Preservation and Resource Center of New Orleans ===================
