A native and lifelong resident of New Orleans until 80 years of age. She was an amazing wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend...her children were her everything. She loved good food and warm conversation and embraced laughter and love. She was the closest one would ever experience being graced in the presence of a Saint. Some years after her husband Alfred passed, she rescued a stray dog (which she did many times throughout her life) she named Shelly. Shelly became her life and they grew to depend on one another. Libby was a genuine soul who's spirit of goodness and compassion will forever reign in the abundance of hearts she blessed. So Libby, go ahead and zoom, zoom, zoom on home to Heaven. Devoted spouse of the late Alfred Ordóñez, Sr. Loving mother of Alfred Ordóñez and his wife Margaret, Victor Ordóñez and his wife Luz, Leonard Ordóñez and his wife Peggy, and Marlene Hecker and her husband, Charles. Grandmother to 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Rita's Catholic Church, New Orleans, c/o Rev. Paul Van Tung Nguyen. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rita Catholic Church, 2729 Lowerline St., New Orleans, LA 70125 on Thursday, July 12 at ll:00 am. Visitation at the church on Thursday from 9:30 am until Mass time. Interment immediately following at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, Chalmette.
