Rome

Sidney J. Rome, 80, of  Slidell, died Friday, July 20, 2012.

He was the husband of Joan W. Rome; father and father-in-law of Sidney J. and 
Michele Rome Jr., Cheryl R. and Kenneth Bankston and Dana R. Brewer; son of the 
late Alcide and Anna Loupe Rome; brother of the late Henry Floyd Rome, Raymond 
J. Rome, Lawrence J. Rome, Adam Alcide Rome, Marie Oliver and Hazel Rome, and 
stepbrother of George and Herbert Stiller. He also is survived by six 
grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Rome was a Slidell Freemason Lodge No. 311, Grand Lodge of Louisiana F&AM, 
member, Pontchartrain Chapter No. 68 of the Royal Arch Masons past high priest, 
Slidell Council No. 48 of the Royal and Select Masons past illustrious master, 
C.A. Everitt Commandery No. 29, Knights Templar and Lakeshore Chapter No. 59, 
Order of the Eastern Star, past commander.

Funeral services were July 24 at Honaker Funeral Home, Forest Lawn Cemetery, 
1751 W. Gause Blvd., Slidell. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
