Laura Benefield Scharfenstien, age 52 years, passed away peacefully on 
Saturday, July 21, 2012 after a short illness surrounded by her family and 
loved ones. 

She leaves behind her loving daughter Ashley Scharfenstien, her parents Lou 
Anna and Robert Benefield, and her loving companion Macho Slavich. 

Laura’s love of life’s simple pleasures and her warmth and kindness to all will 
be missed by her family and all who knew her. 

Laura’s family also includes her sister Wanda Benefield Rieger (Ronald) and her 
nephews Ross and Chad Rieger.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Saturday, 
August 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 West 
Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA 70471. Visitation from 10:00 AM until service 
time. 
Interment will be private.
