Beloved husband of Elaine deVerges Thomas for 64 years. Father of Robert Thomas, Jr. and spouse Annette, Leila Ann Thomas Dragon and spouse David and Scott G. Thomas and spouse Mary. Grandfather of Angelique Thomas Johnson and spouse Michael, Christie Marie Dragon, Rachel Thomas Uribe and spouse Andres, Kevin Patrick Dragon, Bradley John Thomas, David Robert Thomas, Andrew Dall Thomas, Sarah Marie Thomas and Aimee Lynn Thomas. Great-grandfather of Lucien Michael Uribe. Son of the late Dall and Louise Moret Thomas. Brother of John Dall Thomas and spouse Ines and the late Dall L. Thomas, Allen Thomas and Mary Thomas Kammer. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Age 88 years. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Covington, LA for the past 21 years. A graduate of Jesuit High School, Loyola School of Business and Loyola School of Law. Bob was known affectionately by his grandchildren as “Pal”, served in the Pacific during WWII for 2 and ½ years. A successful businessman, served as CEO of R.M. Thomas and Company Insurance Agency, Chairman of the Board of Homeseekers Saving and Loan Association and was involved in numerous charities, church and social outreach programs including St. Tammany Mentoring Service. Bob was a Manresa man. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 4465 Hwy 190 East Service Rd., Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 11:30 AM. Visitation, AT THE CHURCH, from 10:30 AM until service time. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer either Masses or donations to either Pennies for Bread C/O St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Rd., St. Benedict, LA 70457 or to Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church Building Fund.
