John Louis Thurber II, 68, of Slidell died Monday, July 23, 2012.

He was the husband for 45 years of Caren Carrego Thurber; father of Kimm 
Thurber; “Grandman” of John “Grayson” Thurber; son of the late Kathryn Robira 
Thurber and John L. Thurber; brother and brother-in-law of Ida and Jack 
Baggett, Clo Naomi, Fred and Kay Thurber, Kathryn and Doug Watson, Paul and 
Laura Thurber and Liz Carrego. He also is survived by many nieces, nephews, 
cousins and friends.

The Lake Charles native was a longtime Slidell resident.

A Celebration of Life will be July 28 at 1 p.m. at Patton’s in the Salmen-
Fritchie House, 127 Cleveland Ave., off Front Street and U.S. Highway 11, 
Slidell. Visitation will follow until 4:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Grace Fellowship Church, 1105 Lori 
Drive, Slidell, La., 70461, and/or Northshore Church, 310 Kensington Blvd., 
Slidell, La.
