Nellie Guchereau Himel, born October 30, 1927, went to her heavenly home on the 
Feast of the Assumption, Wednesday, August 15, 2012.

Beloved wife of 62 years to the late Norman Lucien Himel.

Mother of Sandra Gremp (Al), Norman L. Himel, Jr. (Sheila), Rebecca White 
(Jim), Angela Tobler (Pat), and Stephen Himel (Susan). Grandmother of Lori 
Leonard, Wendy Gremillion, Adam Gremp, Norman L. Himel III, Joshua and 
Christian White, Chad, Jonathan, and Patrice Tobler, and Laura Himel. Also 
survived by six great-grandchildren.

Born in Opelousas, LA. A former resident of New Orleans and Chalmette, and a 
resident of Hammond since Hurricane Katrina.

She will always be remembered for her ministry of hospitality, intercessory 
prayer and her love for God and people.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 
E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, 
August 20, 2012 at 12:00 noon with visitation on Sunday evening from 6:00 PM 
until 9:00 PM and on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until Mass time.

Interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery #3 in New Orleans.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions in memory of Mrs. Himel to 
be made to Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation, 16013 Halbert Rd., Hammond, LA 
70403.
