He was born October 19, 1924 in Detroit, MI to the late Elmer J. and Margaret Blaine Klebba and has been a resident of Covington since 1968. He was 87 years old. He joined the Navy following his high school graduation serving as a Naval Aviator in WWII. He joined GE in 1952 and retired in 1987 after 35 years in varied Marketing Management assignments. His appreciation and pride in GE never wavered. He felt that the greatest gift God had given him was his beautiful wife, Polly and the 61 wonderful years with her. His children and their love made everything perfect for him. He loved his children, grandchildren and daughters and sons in laws and was very proud of them all. He had a group of friends that he also cared a great deal about and shared many good times with. He loved music and taking photos of family and friends. His computer became an everyday part of his life. His daily e-mails from family and friends were like a tonic to him. He loved tennis with friends as long as he was able. He worked at various charitable roles, including the Mandeville Samaritan Center. He also loved calling on heart patients, as a representative of the “Mended Hearts” organization. He was an “organizer”, a “type A” personality who was sometimes overbearing, often impatient but seldom admitted to either. He wanted to be remembered as a Dad who tried to do his best at whatever he tried, and always hoped that his life “Made a small difference” to his family and friends. He considered being born an American to be a great gift from God… and hoped that all Americans, regardless of origin or political persuasion, will some day realize how fortunate they are to have been born and lived in the USA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Catherine “Polly” Forton Klebba and a son, Matthew Klebba. He is survived by his six wonderful children: Paul (Gale) Klebba, Peter (Geralyn) Klebba, Theresa (David) Brown, Mary Jo (Philip) Napolitano, Christine Klebba, and Jane (Stephen) Maniscalco, all of whom he loved dearly and whom he was deeply proud. He was also survived by 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 10:30 AM. Visitation on Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the Christian Brothers of St. Paul’s, 917 S. Jahncke Ave., Covington, LA 70433 or to The Samaritan Center of Mandeville, 402 Gerard St., Mandeville, LA 70448. U.S. Veteran ===================
