ROANE

Walter G. Roane, 77, of Pearl River, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012.

Roane was born in Terrant City, Ala., raised in Argo, Ala., and went to Hewitt 
High School in Trussville, Ala. He was in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean 
Conflict and attended the Federal Aviation Academy before retiring in 1979 to 
become an independent claims adjuster.

He is survived by his wife, Verna G. Roane; two daughters, Kimberly Hawthorne 
and Laurigene Roane, and four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He also is 
survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Leo Woodall, and nieces and 
nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mattie Roane; 
stepdaughter, Gerlene Robinson, and sister, Margene Smith.

Graveside services will be Aug. 20 at 10 a.m. in Hickory Memorial Gardens 
Cemetery, D.T. Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Louisiana Highway 41, Pearl River.
