James L. Steilberg Sr., 81, died Tuesday, Aug. 7,2012.

The U.S. Coast Guard veteran was a Pearl River resident for 21 years and a 
native of Louisville, Ky. He was the owner and master woodcraftsman of 
Lorraine's Country Crafts.

He was the husband of Lorraine B. Steilberg for 63 years; father and father-in-
law of James Jr. and Earline, Danny, Tommy Sr., and Helina, Ronny Sr., Bobby 
Sr., and Beryl, Donny Sr., and Debbie, Terri and Herman and Cheryl and Al; son 
of the late Daniel Earl and Cardelia Ruth Blevens Steilberg; stepson of the 
late Ruth Steilberg; and brother of Carol Rose, Ruth and the late Elsie, Earl 
Jr., Johnny and Tommy. He also is survived by 18 grandchildren and 10 great-
grandchildren.

The funeral service will be Aug. 10 at 1 p.m. with visitation starting at 10 
a.m., at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette. 

Interment will follow with full military honors in St. Bernard Memorial 
Gardens.
