Georgia Estelle Harrington Townsend, age 85 years, a native of Columbia, MS and 
a resident of Covington, LA for the past 59 years died Sunday, August 19, 2012 
at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Proceeded in death by her parents Susie McNeese Harrington Davis and W. W. 
“Woody” Harrington and, also, by step-parents Dewitt “Dee” Davis and Jessie Mae 
Harrington. She is the sister of the late Wallace Deberry Harrington, Doris 
Harrington Davis Whitehead, Dalton W. Harrington, Jimmy Dunaway and Billie Jean 
Dunaway Patterson.

The beloved wife of the late Lessie F. Townsend, she is survived by their three 
children; Walter H. “Harold” Townsend (Sandra McLain), Linda Townsend Schlenker 
(Andy, Sr.) both of Covington, and Cynthia “Cindy” Townsend Jenkins Kempski 
(Bob) of Phoenix, AZ. She is, also, survived by two step sons: DeWayne Townsend 
and James H. “Bodie” Townsend of Baton Rouge, LA, 2 sisters: Dena Davis Jackson 
of Poteau, OK, Dimple Davis Welch (Buddy) of Covington, 4 brothers: Charlie 
Davis of Silver Creek, MS, Larue Harrington (Sandra) of Sumrall, MS, Robert 
“Tom” Harrington (Ada) of Purvis, MS, Victor “Dick” Harrington of Sumrall, MS, 
12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was a devoted member of the Fountain of Praise Church of God and will 
always be remembered for her Sunday school ministry, intercessory prayer, 
hospitality and her love for God, country and people.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service 
at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Fountain of Praise Church of God, 
1041 Ronald Reagan Hwy. Covington, LA 70433.

A wake is scheduled for Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at E.J. Fielding Funeral 
Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM.

Visiting hours at Fountain of Praise will begin Thursday at 12:00 Noon.

Interment at Garden of the Pines Cemetery in Covington, LA will immediately 
follow the service.
