Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2012/st1208.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== LaDon Smith Young, 63, of Mandeville, Louisiana Passed away August 15, 2012, from complications related to her long fight with Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS). LaDon was born in Memphis, TN, attended Central High, Memphis State University and was married to Frank Young in 1982. They lived in Germantown until 2002 and attended Emmanuel United Methodist Church, where she was active in the church and youth departments. Her unforgettable sense of humor, positive spirit, and infectious smile touched many lives and she will be missed by all who knew her. LaDon worked for 20 years for BellSouth before “retiring” to become a full-time homemaker and after raising her two beloved daughters returned to the workforce to spend the last years of her career as a preschool teacher at St. Michael’s Episcopal Preschool in Mandeville, LA. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Frank Young, her children Lauren Fradella of Covington, LA; Lindsey Young of New Orleans , LA, and a granddaughter, Ellie Fradella. A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Memphis, on Sunday, August 19th at 4:00 with family visitation from 2:00-4:00 in the church parlor. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the ALS Association, www.alsa.org/donate , or the charity of your choice in her memory. ===================
