The Houma native was a Covington resident for the past 14 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Ledet Autin, and was the son of the late Gibson Autin Sr., and Felicia Dufrene; stepson of Augustine Pizani Autin and brother of the late Gibson Jr., Arnold, Buford and Lloyd Autin and the late Audrey Boquet. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Gretchen Autin and Jimmy Yancey, Daniel Charles, "Chucky" and Lorre, Holly, Joe Vinson and Gibson Joseph Autin II; three sisters, Millie Clecker, Pam Miller and Rosemary Wolfe, and 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. The WWII veteran had several businesses: Autin Packing, Foods and Services Catering, Infoods, Autin's Cajun Cookery and various restaurants in southeast Louisiana. The funeral Mass will be Sept. 12 at 11:30 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m., at the Bagnell & Son Funeral Home chapel, 75212 Lee Road, Covington. ===================
