Maria “Mema” Eufemia de Leon Cardenas, age 84 years, passed away on Sunday, 
September 16, 2012.

Beloved wife of the late Ramiro Cardenas II. Mother of Mario de Leon (Ofelia), 
Ramiro “Julio” Cardenas III (Mary Jane) and Diana de Leon-Heintzman (Brian). 
Grandmother of Cindy de Leon-Gudino, Mario, Roberto, Carlos, Jamie, Max De 
Leon, Tony Vargas, Theresa, Amanda, and Christian Cardenas,. Great-grandmother 
of Miguelito, Carlie, Breyden, Miraya, Madison, Alexandro, Julio, Sergio, 
Danielle, Juanita, Ashley, Jessica de Leon, Priscila, Jasmine Gudino, and 
Cristina Heintzman.

A native of Ciudad Acuna, Mexico and a resident of Bush, LA for the past 38 
years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service 
from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 
on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 6:00 PM. Visitation from 4:00 PM until 
service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to St. Catherine’s 
Hospice, 2701 Hwy 51, Laplace, LA 70068.
