Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2012/st1209.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Navarro Rodney Davidson was born June 11, 1928, in Franklin, LA, the second son of Paul Lawrence Davidson, Sr. and Electa Navarro Davidson. “Rod,” as he was called by his family, died Sunday, September 2, 2012, at his home in Covington. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1945, where he played French horn in the band and tackle on the football team. Attending Southwestern, Rodney obtained his B.S. in Education in 1950; he received his M.Ed. from LSU in 1957. His education was interrupted by his military service in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. Rodney married Kathleen Kuhlman April 6, 1951, in Franklin. He taught high school in Patterson and later in Covington. In 1963, Rodney became an agent with New York Life Insurance Company and had a very successful career and through this job, made many friends. He retired after 45 years of service to the company and his policy holders. Rodney lived a full life, enjoying family, cooking, eating, fishing, hunting, and traveling. He maintained an active membership in the Jackson Bayou Hunting Club and hunting accommodations in Merida, Yucatan. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited and Safari International. Rodney is survived by his wife Kathleen, daughter Martha Davidson Motichek and her husband Eric; his brother Paul L. Davidson, Jr. and his wife Patricia Boudreaux; his sister Ruth Davidson McIntyre and her husband Ted; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Having been an Eagle Scout, the family requests that donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America in Rodney’s name at www.scouting.org. Visitation will be on Friday, September 7, at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 307 St. Mary Street, Madisonville, LA, from 1:30 to 3:30pm, followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated by his nephew Father Al Davidson. Interment will be at the Theodore Dendinger Cemetery immediately after the Mass. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home of Covington, LA is in charge of the arrangements. ===================
