MICHAEL (September 27, 1938 - September 20, 2012) v R. Michael Stevens passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Jan Hawkins Stevens. Loving father of Mike Stevens, Barry Stevens, Stephanie Berault and Eric Hunter. Son of the late Blanche and Louis Stevens. Brother of Tom and Jerry Stevens; Grandfather of Sean Stevens, Lane Stevens, Savanna Stevens, Sara Caswell, Andrew Stevens, Austin Van Ry, Reagan Berault, Jacob Berault and Joshua Berault and great-grandfather of Annabelle Caswell, Leah Caswell and Emma Stevens. Mr. Stevens was a native of Lubbock, TX and attended Texas A&M University. As a resident of Mandeville, Louisiana for 28 years he was very active in the community he loved. He served on many volunteer boards including the Samaritan Center and the North Shore Republican Men’s Club. One of his true passions was sharing God’s message of hope and redemption with men in prison. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Church of the King, 22205 Little Creek Rd., Mandeville, LA on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 12:00 noon with visitation on Wednesday evening at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday morning at Church from 11:00 AM until service time. Come causal. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Mr. Stevens to be made to The Samaritan Center, 402 Girod Street Mandeville Louisiana ===================
