Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2012/st1209.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== HENRY JOSEPH STIEGLER “Hank”, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Louisiana Heart Hospital in Lacombe, LA surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Maralyn Giardina Stiegler for the past 57 years. He was a loving husband and devoted father, grand father and great grand father. He will be truly missed. Father of Tommy Stiegler and wife Cheryl, Scott Stiegler and wife Monique, Matthew Rene Stiegler and wife Michelle, Michelle Stiegler Reker and husband Douglas and the late Barry Joseph Stiegler. Son of the late Ben M. and Irma M. Hanemann Stiegler. Brother of Kenneth R. and the late Charles, Benny, Eddie, and Roy Stiegler. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, Marlaina Bean, Meradith Browne, Grace Stiegler, Nathanael Stiegler, Esther Stiegler, Caleb Stiegler, Zachary Stiegler, Grant Stiegler, Dalton Reker, Erica Reker, Brooke Blackwell, and Benjamin Stiegler and 3 great grandchildren, Luke Browne, Sean Bean and Emma Bean. Age 77 years; a native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell for the past 34 years. Hank served his country in many facets of the Armed Forces especially the 159th Fighter Group of the Louisiana Air National Guard. He worked in the Aerospace Industry, starting with Saturn V through the Space Shuttle era on the Main Engines as a Chief Inspector and the External Tank Program as a Weld Inspector. Finally retiring from Department of Energy as a Quality Control Specialist working in Strategic Oil Reserves. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the American Legion Bayou Liberty Post 374 of Slidell, LA and was a former Range Officer for the Honey Island Shooting Range. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial service at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Monday, October 1, 2012 at 1:00pm.
