Jeannette R. Sylve, 91, of Slidell, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012.

The faithful St. Genevieve Catholic Church parishioner, housewife and caregiver 
was the wife of Raymond Sylve Sr., and mother of 11 children.

She is survived by eight children and their spouses, Mary Ann, Raymond Jr., 
Charles and Corinne, Margaret, Merlin, Cynthia, Iris and Levi Scott Jr., 
Michael and Christina; one granddaughter whom she raised from 3 years of age, 
Ganae Smith; nephews, Joseph “Bobo” and Leroy Pichon; sister-in-law, Shirley 
Pichon; cousins, Ellen, Carol, and Laura Francis of Albuquerque, N.M.; Ella 
Doyle and friends, Leroy Pierre, Abraham Phillips, Almonica Ray Faciane, Ronald 
McDougal; many grand, great-grand, and great-great grandchildren, and in-law 
nieces and nephews of family in LaPlace, Hammond and Slidell. She was preceded 
in death by three daughters, Cheryl, Valerie and Mildred.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Sept. 8 at 11 a.m., with visitation starting 
at 9 a.m., at St. Genevieve Catholic Church off Bayou Liberty Road in Slidell. 

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell.

Doyle’s Funeral Home of Slidell is handling the arrangements.
