Burckel III, 70, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Regina Burckel of Jackson, Miss.,; children and their spouses, Chantal and John Stribling of Madison, Miss., and Charla and Jim Nelan of Longwood, Fla.; grandchildren, Ashley McKenzie, Alex and Charles Stribling and Callie Nelan; great-grandchild, Mason Rosell; mother, Yvette Burckel Hinkle of Slidell; siblings, Gerald Burckel of Slidell, Pat Burckel of Hammond, Giselle Daniels of Lafayette, Craig Burckel of New Orleans, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Louis Burckel II. The New Orleans native graduated from Louisiana State University/University of New Orleans and was in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a club manager for 45 years and Club Managers Association of America and Honor Society member who achieved the status of certified club manager. He retired from the Country Club of Jackson after 25 years. The devoted Catholic was a St. Richard Catholic Church parishioner and usher and former St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church member, serving as a Eucharistic minister and Knights of Columbus member. He traveled throughout the United States and Europe, particularly enjoying Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland and England and vacationing with family and friends in Destin, Fla. He loved fishing, hunting and entertaining at “Big Moose Lodge.” A private Mass of resurrection will be celebrated.
