She was born to the late George and Irma Boudreaux Brown. She was the loving mother of James Frederick Grieshaber (Aleen), Bruce George Grieshaber (Kathleen) and Robert John Grieshaber (Louise). Sister of the late George Brown and survived by three siblings: Roselee Toups (Herb), Francis Brown (Lola) and Gayle LeBlanc, she is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Jimmy, Eric, Jill, Bruce, Jr., Scott, Keith, Emily, Glen and 6 great grandchildren. Irene was born in Gretna, LA but spent most of her childhood on a farm between Raceland and Thibodaux. She attended and earned an RN degree from Charity Hospital School of Nursing. This is where she met the love of her life, Frederick Cleary Grieshaber, who preceded her in death after 67 years of beautiful marriage. Irene “Granny” will be remembered as a multi-talented home maker, doll maker, cake designer, seamstress, Airstream enthusiast and an avid LSU and Saints fan. Her family is forever grateful for her love and guidance. A private funeral mass was held with interment following at the St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Abbey. ===================
