An extraordinary woman, wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt; coming from the loving arms of a second generation Sicilian home, setting out to work as a young women and in doing so meeting the man of her dreams, Spud Lynch who she was married to for 32 years. Living, loving, laughing, raising two children, she tirelessly made every holiday a celebration for all family and friends. In addition, she volunteered at St. Raphael School; became an extremely active member of her garden club becoming President of Pontchartrain Garden Club. She acted as mentor to young girls for many years thru Pontchartrain's sponsored Little Mums Junior Garden Club; for those efforts she received many awards and honors. She also worked to promote the civic activities of garden clubs thru the Federated Council of New Orleans Garden Clubs, acting as its President and thereafter receiving the distinction of becoming a Life Member of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation, Inc. Bernie died peacefully at her transplanted home in Madisonville, never for one moment forgetting her real home in New Orleans. She leaves a devoted son Jim Lynch and daughter Janet Lynch both products of her constant love and vigilance. Remaining also are her younger brother Marion Liuzza, her granddaughters Sally Lynch and Maggie Lynch Gray, and her husband, Jason Gray, daughter-in-law Annette Pucheu Lynch and her granddog, Issy, as well as many relatives and friends. Preceding her and welcoming her in death are her husband Spud Lynch and her brother Tony Liuzza along with many in-laws and friends. The family thanks the nurses and aides of Haven Hospice and special thank you to our loving friend Trudy Hall for her devotion and steadfastness, both before Katrina and after. Bernie made a lasting impression on all who met her, this and her children are her legacy. Memorial services will be private. ===================
