A native of New Orleans, he was born October 8, 1941. The beloved son of Charles R., Jr. and Lola Legier Maduell, he is survived by two sisters; Andree Maduel. and Rita Maduell and was uncle to Cherie Wagner, Nicolle Perniciaro, Lauren Elliott and Alyssa Ramos. He was preceded in death by his father and one nephew, Richard “Ricky” Wagner. Growing up in New Orleans Rene, as he was affectionately known, served his time in the National Guard and developed a deep love for Jazz. He was best at blowing a horn and having mastered the saxophone, he played with many of the “New Orleans Greats” over the years, including his contemporary and friend, Dr. John. A time to memorialize Rene and celebrate his life will be scheduled and announced on a day in the near future. ===================
