Wife of the late Charles Sechrist, and daughter of the late Eunice Montz and Elwood Barrere; sister of Ben Barrere of Slidell, mother of Keith Sechrist (wife Dwaina) of Lumberton, Texas, James Sechrist of Beaumont, Texas, and Christine Hoemke (husband Rodney) of Arlington, Texas; grandmother of Chase Sechrist, Courtney Sechrist, Alex Hoemke, and Amy Hoemke. A graduate of Dominican High School in New Orleans and the Charity Hospital School of X-Ray Technology, New Orleans, LA, Mrs. Sechrist worked in Louisiana, Ohio, and Texas, before retiring in 1996 after 40 years in the Radiation Field. She also worked in the retail industry for a few years. Upon her retirement, she became very active in many Slidell social groups. Charleen was several times President of the AARP Chapter #4716 and chaired other positions in the chapter. She was also a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Choir for over twenty years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at 11:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 400 Westchester Place, Slidell, Louisiana. Friends may visit at the church on Tuesday beginning at 10:00am. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. ===================
