Rosalie Navarrette Serpas passed away Oct. 20, 2012 at the age of 93. 

Daughter of the late Juan Navarrette and Mary DeMaria Navarrette. 

Beloved wife of the late Emmett Serpas. Cherished sister of Carmen Smith, 
Elizabeth “Betsy”Armstrong and Frances Hebbler. Devoted mother of the late 
Marion Portes Achee and son-in-law Ronald Achee. Beloved grandmother of 
Elizabeth Gelpi Deshotels, Michael Scott Gelpi (Cindy), Patrick Gelpi (Melody), 
and Daniel Gelpi (Starlynn). Loving great grandmother (G.G.) to: Sarah Gelpi 
Hooker (Jonathan), Madelyn and Marina Gelpi; Laura Mayfield (Zeal), Aimee 
Gelpi; Ryan and Miranda Deshotels; Brandon and Faith Gelpi.
Beloved great, great grandmother to Ella Rose.
She was also a cherished part of the lives of many nieces, nephews as well as 
great nieces and great nephews.

She felt blessed to be able to see so many generations of her family grow up 
and proud of their character and accomplishments. She will be missed and 
mourned by many, including her family, friends and her church parish of St. 
Luke.

Visitation will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 910 Cross Gates Blvd, 
Slidell, La., on Wednesday, October 24th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed 
by a Funeral Mass.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery
