Bernadette Mary Wilkerson-Burkhalter, a longtime Slidell resident and New 
Orleans resident, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012.

Survivors include her husband, Samuel “Bubba" Burkhalter; stepson, Kenneth 
Burkhalter; stepdaughter, Sharlene Burkhalter; granddaughters, Myrianna and 
Bianca; great-grandson, Kameron Johnson; sisters, Alice Wilkerson-Bonner and 
Betty Wilkerson; nephews, Bernard and Lamont Bonner; niece, Yvonne Bonner; 
great-nephew, Che-Lamont Bonner; cousins, Yudell Jackson and Valencia and Ida 
Ducre; friends, Melvina Lewis, Tyra Hambrick, Mable Bell and Sharon Mason, and 
a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive AME Church, 2457 
Second St., Slidell.

Doyle Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
