Beloved wife of 58 years of Melvin Dennis; mother of Mark Dennis (Kathy), Judy Burley (Scott) and Michelle “Missy” Chatelain (Kim); grandmother of Kyle and Kevin Chatelain, Olivia, Jeffrey and Babs Burley. A native of New Orleans and graduate of McMain High School who loved the city’s unique culture and history, Jean raised her family in River Ridge and lived in Mandeville for the past 10 years. Known for her kindness and gentle nature, Jean always found the good in everyone she encountered. She possessed a sharp mind, was a voracious reader and loved crossword puzzles, music and playing bridge. Later in life, she took up painting and drawing as a hobby. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by two sisters, Joyce Moffatt of Sandestin, FL and Barbara Ruth of Metairie; and a brother, Lee Guess of Birmingham, AL. She was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Ann Lowe of Diamondhead, MS. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Memorial Services at the Chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Visitation on Tuesday will be from 11:00 AM until service time. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center ===================
