Faulk passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at his home in Covington, LA. He was born July 22, 1920 to Albert Roy and Fredora Sponseller Faulk in Canton, OH and was a resident of Covington, LA since 1977. The beloved husband of Barbara Reagan Faulk, he is survived by his sister, Donna Mae FaulK; two step children, Liz Mount and Mark Cohn and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Dotson Faulk and one brother Kenneth L. Faulk. He retired as Senior Vice President on February 1, 1982 after 28 years of dedicated service with LL&E. “A real oil finder”, “a hard core geologist”, “the Chief”, “a great boss” are only a few of the endearing attributes to Niles during his professional career. Much of LL&E’s success in exploration for oil and gas can be attributed to his persistent search through sound geological interpretation. His leadership, exploration ability and friendly disposition have been etched on the memories of those who knew him either personally or professionally. When Niles first joined LL&E in 1953 until his retirement in 1982, he helped guide the Company from that of a small royalty interest landowner to a large successful, diversified and integrated Company. Niles was respected and admired by all who knew him. His talents and splendid personality will certainly be missed. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at 1:30 PM on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours will begin Saturday at 1:00 PM. Interment at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Canton, OH will take place in the near future. ===================
