HARRIS, ROBERT GEROME 
(January 31, 1922 - November 24, 2012)

Robert Gerome Harris of Burkburnett, Texas, passed away peacefully at the age 
of 90 on Saturday, November 24, 2012, in Mandeville, Louisiana. 

He was born to the late Edrick Gerome Harris and Ethel Margaret Hardesty Harris 
in Faxon, Oklahoma, on January 31, 1922. Bob lived most of his life in 

Burkburnett before moving to Mandeville in 2011.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 30, at 11am at Central Baptist 
Church in Burkburnett. Dr. Kenneth Schroeder of First Baptist Church of 
Mandeville and Rev. Duane Perkinson of Central Baptist Church will officiate. 

Interment will follow at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery 

under direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett. Visitation will 
be held Thursday, November 29, from 7 until 8pm at the Funeral Home.

The beloved husband of the late Lura Lowrance Harris for 42 years, he was also 
preceded in death by Emma Stahl Harris, his wife of 24 years and the mother of 
his children. He is survived by his step-daughter Gayla Schroeder, her husband 
Kenneth Schroeder of Mandeville, LA; two sons: Wesley Harris, his wife Marian 
of St. Louis, MO; and Ernest Harris, his wife Cheryl of Arlington, TX; one 
daughter Janice Byers, her husband Joe Byers of Deming, NM; his sister Estelle 
Hefner of Wichita Falls, TX; and one brother Gib Harris of Nevada, MO. He is 
also survived by eight grandchildren: KeriBeth Ethridge, Kendal Feazell, Travis 
Schroeder, Melissa Schroeder, Greg Harris, Christy Harris, Jonathan Harris, and 
Andy Byers, and four great-grandchildren
