Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Meyers; daughter, Miranda Meyers; father, Ed Deroche; sister, Brandy Deroche; stepmother, Maria Deroche; stepsiblings, Carl and Renata Scala; aunt and uncle, Judy Nunez and Willie Gebhard; niece and nephew, Kade and Zane Prejean, and godchild, Haley Faciane. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Deroche, and was the granddaughter of the late Zenobia and Gilbert Deroche and Emily and Alcide Louque. The lifelong Chalmette resident who graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and Charity/Delgado School of Nursing moved to Pearl River due to Hurricane Katrina. The dedicated nurse who had compassion and empathy worked at Chalmette Medical Center, Louisiana Heart Hospital and most recently at Fairway Medical Center as the surgical services directed. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 2008 but worked full time until a month before her death. She was actively participating in charity work for breast cancer awareness and was dedicated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure, to which donations would be appreciated. A memorial service will be Dec. 2 at 3:30 p.m., immediately followed by a life celebration gathering until 8 p.m., at The Lake House, 2025 Lakeshore Drive, Mandeville. ===================
