Beloved husband of Patricia Pichon Nunez for the past 58 years. Father of Leighton James Nunez of Ester, AK, Juana Anne Plaisance and husband Robert and Lee Durel Nunez and wife Gwen. Son of the late Charles Pierre Nunez and Ella Guzman Nunez. Brother of Estelle Coogler, Rhea Pershing of Lafayette, LA, Marjorie Mayfield of McNeil, MS, Juanita Merrill of Hendersonville, NC and the late Charlene Patricia Callens and Charles Cuthbert “Cut” Nunez. Also survived by 7 grandchildren; Jessica Knott, Jennifer Gordon, Jared McCurnin, Elisha McCurnin, Colleen McCurnin, Justin Nunez and Katie Nunez and 10 great grandchildren. Age 79 years; a lifelong resident of Slidell, LA, Mr. Nunez was a retired Bricklayer for Kaiser Aluminum. He served in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict and was a former Auxiliary Police Officer for the Slidell Police Dept. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm and on Thursday morning from 9:00am until 11:00am. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Donations to Community Christian Concern of Slidell or St. Joseph Hospice are preferred, in lieu of flowers.
