He was born to the late Lena Settoon Rodriguez and Eliard Rodriguez in White Castle, LA on September 8, 1924 and was a resident of New Orleans for over 50 years before moving to Covington in 1992. He was a loving father to Michele R. Rodriguez (her husband Lee D. Thomas), Cathleen Rodriguez-Brownson and the late Marshall “Rodney” Rodriguez. He is survived by his children’s mother, Rosita Vincelette Rodriguez; one brother, Lenit Rodriguez and six grandchildren: Lee M. and Reece D. Thomas, Anna M. Brownson, Marshall D., Mitchell R. and Rachel M. Rodriguez. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Marshall served his country faithfully during WWII with the U.S. Army 27th Infantry Division. He was once a fixture at Antoine’s Restaurant having served the customers there for over 54 years and with a love for horses and the races, he was co-owner of a number of race horses from the area. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Esplanade Ave. New Orleans, LA 70119. A wake is scheduled to take place Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 6-9:00 PM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours at the church on Monday will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment at St. Louis Cemetery #3 on Esplanade will immediately follow mass.
