Sonia Treadaway Taranto passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012 at her home in 
Folsom, LA. 

She was born to the late Emanuel and Denise St. Amant Treadaway in Luling, LA 
on September 17, 1927. 
She was a resident of Metairie for many years before moving permanently to 
Folsom in 1990. 

The beloved wife of John (Richard) Taranto, she is survived by four sons: 
Kippard (Darlene), Richard (Melissa), Blair (Sherry) and Brett (Connie) 
Taranto; five daughters: Faith Giordano (Victor), Hope Naquin (Barry), Charity 
Wright (Chuck), Marie Bono (Bubba) and Ann Floyd (Billy); 15 grandchildren; 8 
great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

She was preceded in death by one son, Lance Taranto, Sr.; one granddaughter, 
Lauren Taranto; one sister, Beatrice Bourg and two brothers, Manuel “Spot” and 
Dennis Taranto.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at 
11:30 AM on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic 
Church, 11345 St. Johns Church Rd., Folsom, LA 70437.

Visiting hours at the church will begin Wednesday at 10:00 AM.

Interment at Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans will immediately follow mass.
