She was born July 12, 1923 in New Orleans to the late Anita Frances Dewhurst and Albert Joseph Clarke and has been a resident of Bush since 1981. The beloved wife of the late David Robert Thrower, she is survived by two daughters, Marilyn T. Wagner and Audrey T. Iannazzo (Vincent); two sisters, Dolores C. Henriques and Elaine C. Jochim; 7 grandchildren: Jeff (Lori), David (Erin), Jan (Pat), Paul, Judy (Jason), Michael, & Becky (Frank); and 8 great- grandchildren: Whitney, Jessica, Morgan, Lauren, Jenna, Preston, Alissa, & Ryan. She was preceded in death by her sister Anita C. Malinowski and her brother, Albert J. Clarke, Jr. Audrey was valedictorian of her high school graduation class at Immaculate Conception School. She started her medical secretarial career in the United States Navy as a civilian employee where she met her husband, a Naval Pharmacist Mate. She was as long time employee at Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans. She lived in Bush, LA until recently and was a volunteer for the 5th Ward Jr. High School PTO and the Bush Recreation Center, was a CCD teacher at St. Michael’s Mission Church and worked in the nursery at Hebron Baptist Church. Many of the children in Bush called her Mere along with her grand and great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 9, 2012 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. A wake is scheduled to take place Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 6-9:00 PM with visiting hours beginning Friday at 12:00 Noon. Interment at the St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery will immediately follow mass. ===================
