Ronald Albert Cahanin, 64, of Mandeville died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012. 

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Janet Lindsey Cahanin; sons and 
daughter-in-law, Lindsey, Joshua, Andrew and Leslie Cahanin; granddaughters, 
Helene and Nathalie Cahanin; brother, Richard Cahanin III; nephew, Richard 
Cahanin IV; mother, Irene “Mimi” Cahanin, and numerous other nieces and 
nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Cahanin Jr.

He received his master’s degree in social work from Tulane University and was a 
dedicated adolescent social worker for more than 30 years at Southeast Hospital 
before retiring in 2011. 
His most evident quest in life was ensuring the happiness of others. His 
devotion to his wife and selfless love and pride shown to his sons set an 
example to all of what a husband, father and grandfather should be. 
His kindness and caring spirit will forever be remembered by the countless 
lives he touched.

A funeral Mass will be at Dec. 15 at 11 a.m., with visitation starting at 10 
a.m., at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte St, Mandeville. 

Interment will be private.
