Beloved Husband of the late Rosemary Johnson Edwards. Father of Stacey Edwards (Sheri) and Joseph Liles (Margie) and the late James Liles. Son of the late David Pendleton Edwards and Annie Boyd Edwards. Brother of the late Paul Edwards, J.P. Edwards, Alice Shedd, Sue Crain, Kathryn Rimmer and Frances Knight. Grandfather of Heidi Frederick (Daniel) and great grandfather of Jacob, Jordan and Kameron Frederick and a host of much loved family and friends. A native of Mississippi, he resided in New Orleans for over 60 years. He moved to Old Jefferson after Hurricane Katrina. He was a longtime barber in several successful shops around the area, most notably the original shop in Lakeside Shopping Center as well as shops in Gentilly Woods and Parkchester. Guy was most proud of his WWII service in which he served honorably as a gunner on a M-7 tank with the 7th Armored Division. He served at various times under Generals Patton and Montgomery. His unit was an integral part of the fighting in the critical Battle of the Bulge. Guy was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, often referred to as "Preacher" by those he encountered. He was passionate about sharing the Good News of salvation through grace alone to those who accept this gift offered freely by our Lord. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Gideons International for the placement of New Testaments in his memory. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Edgewater Baptist Church, 5900 Paris Av., New Orleans on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 2:30 pm. Visitation at the church from 1:00 pm until service time. Fellowship following. Interment will take place on Monday, December 17 at Canton Cemetery in Canton, MS at 12:00 noon. ===================
