Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2012/st1212.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Vernita Claire Epperson was taken in the arms of our LORD Jesus Christ on Tuesday November 27, 2012, at 4:15pm; in her home at 105 Ebony Drive, Slidell LA. Nita was born in Spokane Washington; she had made her home in Nebraska and Wyoming during the time her children were younger. Nita moved later in life to Oregon where she had been a longtime resident of Sutherlin OR, until recently moving to Slidell, LA., to live with her oldest son Kevin and his wife Connie. Nita found her church family at the Crown of Life Lutheran Church, where she attended regularly, and became an active member, helping and volunteering wherever she was able. She lived her life to the blessed age of 75 years young, during which she was blessed to be married four times. She was preceded in death by her husband’s Euel Epperson and Ervin L. Zander; she is survived by Nick Nickerson JR and Wayne Smith (Smitty). She was preceded in death by her Mother Lorraine T. Triplett and Step Father Irvin J. Triplett, younger brother Gary Triplett. Nita is survived by her one step parent: Edna (Sally) Hammond of Mt Vernon WA., two sisters: Marlene Gunsoley of Glennallen AK, Linda Hansen of Washington; youngest brother- Ricky J. Triplett of Sutherlin OR. Three children: Kevin and wife Connie of Slidell LA, Mark and Elena Zander of Sutherlin OR., Also by eleven grandchildren- Alisabeth, Daniel, Heather, Savonna, Shauna, Raymond, and Willy Zander, Curtis, Richard, David and Patricia Warfield, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews . During her life and with each husband she enjoyed dancing, fishing, bowling, and gardening, also worked in the restaurant business. Ervin and Nita enjoyed working in the business of hard surfacing of farming machinery. She greatly enjoyed making concrete figurines; which she loved to paint and sold them at craft fairs. Nita even helped during harvesting season, with getting the crops to the market. She was a devoted wife and mother, always ready and willing to do anything to help support her family; so all their needs were met; family was always first in her heart. Memorial Services are planned for December 15, 2012 at 2 p.m., they will be held at the Crown of Life Lutheran Church (WELS), located in New Orleans at 11721 Morrison Rd; please plan to attend and celebrate her life with her family ===================
