Roger Manuel, 83, of Lacombe died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012.

Survivors include his wife for the past 57 years, Kathleen R. Manuel; children 
and their spouses, Diane M. and Terry Payne, Cheryl A. Manuel, Michele A. and 
Ed Clites, Paul M. and Stacie Manuel, and Drew and Donna Manuel; sibling, 
Jackie Balfa, and 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen R. Manuel.

The Mamou native was a Lacombe resident for the past 33 years. 
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a retired 
carpenter and former employee of the St. Tammany School Board, for which he 
worked at Jump Start and Pontchartrain Elementary. 
He was a charter member of Christ The King Lutheran Church in Kenner and a 
charter member and former congregation president at Peace Lutheran Church in 
Slidell. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge and the Mounted Escort in 
Kenner.

A memorial service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, Gause Blvd. West, 
Slidell, LA on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to The National Leukemia or National 
Cancer Society.
