Survivors include her children and their spouses, Pollard and Cindy Mercer, Lalah “Rossie” Mercer, Malise and Lane Terrell, Tiffany Mercer and Tisha and Jeff DeBellis; grandchildren and their spouses, Max and Tarynn, Heidi and Michael, Scott and Kristie and Hilton, Stanton, Max, Jeffrey and Jack, and great-grandchildren, Trey, Michaela, Caleb, and Klhoe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Mercer of Winnfield. She was born in Greensboro, N.C., where she attended West Market United Methodist Church and graduated from Greensboro High School and the University of North Carolina Greensboro. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Slidell, where she was the music secretary for many years. She happily and faithfully served her family, community and church. She was a member of the Bayou Liberty Garden Club, serving two terms as president; Slidell Symphony Orchestra; Pearl River Planning Commission; Slidell Convention Board; STARC, serving as board secretary; Ozone Camellia Club and the Faith Ladies Sunday school class. The memorial service will be Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield, followed by burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Local arrangements are by Burns Funeral Home. ===================
