Guidry Jr., passed away at Colonial Nursing Home in Marksville, Louisiana on Thursday, January 3, 2013, aged 98 years. He resided in New Orleans for his first 70 years before moving to Folsom, LA in 1991. Beloved husband of the late Gladys Krass Guidry and son of the late Henry J. Guidry, Sr. of Convent and the late Leah Cambre of Reserve, LA. Father of Henry J. Guidry, III and Michael R. Guidry Sr. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. He rose to the rank of Captain and served in the Pacific Theatre in World War II. He later joined the Lipton Tea Company from which he retired after many years of service. He was a member of Level Lodge #373, F. &. A. M.; LA. Consistory 32°; Past Recorder Jerusalem Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S.; Past Captain Arab Patrol Jerusalem Temple; Past Commander Gentilly-Links Post 203 American Legion; Member Voiture 108, Forty and Eight, American Legion; Quartermaster, Ivan-Huval Post 7286, V.F .W., Covington, LA. Relatives and friends, also parishioners of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Folsom, LA are invited to celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, LA at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 followed by interment at St. Joseph's Abbey Cemetery, 75376 River Road, Covington, Louisiana. Visitation at the funeral home will begin at 9:00 AM on Tuesday.
