Survivors include his wife, Andy Johnson; sons and daughter-in-law, Andrew Claiborne and Peter Edward Johnson, and Jacob Patrick and Cristine Johnson; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Mike Bogardus; father-in-law, Harry Earl Jones; granddaughter, Morgan Riley Johnson, and grandson, Liam Claiborne Johnson. He was born in Montgomery, Ala., to J. Guy and Mary Claiborne Johnson and graduated from Huntingdon College in Montgomery with a degree in psychology and the University of Alabama with a master’s degree in social work. He dedicated his adult life to helping others. He worked for 30 years as a social worker at Southeast Louisiana Hospital in Mandeville, offered private counseling services for individuals and families, coached youth baseball and soccer in Mandeville and was a member of Mandeville Bible Church. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International. ===================
