William “Bill” Kerr Jr., formerly of Slidell, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.

Survivors include his wife, Jacklyn “Jackie” Kerr of Purvis, Miss.; daughters 
and son-in-law, Karen Owens of Petal, Miss., and Kristie and Tony Arena of 
Picayune, Miss., and grandchildren, Megan and Michelle Owens of Petal. Miss. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and William Kerr Sr., and 
brother, Gerald Kerr.

There will be a gathering of friends on Jan. 13 from 2-6 p.m. at Northshore 
Beach Community Center, 267 Debbie Drive, off Carr Drive, in Slidell.

He retired from BellSouth and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and 
taught swimming for 25 years in Slidell. 
The resident of Purvis, Miss., was a range security officer at Camp Shelby, a 
member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had 
served in the U.S. Coast Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations requested to a humane society.

Moore Funeral Home of Hattiesburg, Miss., handled the arrangements.
