Walter Joseph Stephens, Sr. passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013.

Beloved husband of Leola Sonnier Stephens; loving father of Walter Joseph 
Stephens, Jr. and Sandra Stephens Mendel; and brother of Joseph Anthony 
Stephens, Sr. He was also survived by three grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Galasso Stephens; 
his father, Clinton Stephens; a grandchild and 5 brothers and sisters.

Age 87 years, a United States Marine Corp Veteran, he was a native of Morgan 
City, LA, a former resident of New Orleans for 60 years and a resident of 
Covington, LA for the past 15 years.

Funeral services were private.
