Hope Mercado Bennett, born and raised in Salinas, Monterey County, California, 
passed away at her home in Covington, Louisiana on Thursday, February 14, 2013 
at the age of 82.

Beloved wife of the late Howard Haltom Bennett. Loving mother of Paula Bennett 
and the late Michael Bennett and Mark Bennett. Daughter of the late Amparo 
Mercado Venuti de Monteagudo and Luis Venuti. Sister of Fabio (Jan, deceased) 
Mercado of Chicago, Illinois, Carmen (Al) Lore of Salinas, California, Gloria 
(Raymond) Lopez of San Diego, California, Rosie (Bob) Snyder of Dixon, 
California and Joe (Loy) Venuti of Salinas, California. Also survived by 
numerous nieces and nephews who reside in California and Chicago, Illinois.

As a military wife and mother, Hope, traveled extensively, raising her family in 
several states in the United States and numerous European countries and Japan.

She is loved and will be missed by all of her family and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on 
Monday, February 18, 2013 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, 
Covington, LA 70433 at 11:00 AM with visitation on Monday from 9:00 AM until 
Mass time.

Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Mrs. Bennett 
to be made to cancer research through the American Cancer Society.
