Jonathan Joseph Avitia passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the age of 
31. 

He was the beloved husband of Lindsey Dotson Avitia. Loving son of Jose and 
Cointa Avitia of Gatesville, TX, and devoted brother of Ila Mae Avitia. He was 
the son-in-law of James and Janet Dotson of Mandeville, LA and brother-in-law 
of Meredith and Jay. He is also survived by many extended family members and 
friends across the world.

The owner of J. Avitia Design + Build in New Orleans, Jonathan was an avid bass 
fisherman with a cowboy heart. He loved the ocean, especially the beach. He 
will be remembered for his creative mind, ability to fix anything, his big 
smile, love of antique cars and his big, generous heart. His legacy reaches far 
and wide through the thousands of lives he touched.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services 
in Mandeville, LA or Gatesville, TX. On Monday, April 1 at 1 PM at Church of 
the King, 22205 Little Creek Rd., Mandeville, LA with visitation at the church 
beginning at 10 AM. On Thursday, April 4 visitation will be from 5-9 PM at 
Gatesville Funeral Home, 2425 E. Main St., Gatesville, TX and a funeral mass 
Friday, April 5 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1108 W. Main St., 
Gatesville, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory 
of Jonathan to be made to Friends In Need Foundation
