Roberto Joseph Carballo passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the age of 66. 

Papi, as he was affectionately called, was born to the late Elena Beatriz 
Alvarado and Robert A. Carballo in Cristoble, Spain. At the age of 16 he moved 
to Chalmette, La. where he became an American citizen and met his beloved wife 
of 42 years, Deborah (Rapp) Carballo.

He later served his adopted country proudly as a Submariner in the U.S. Navy. 

In 2005 he moved to Covington, La. where he retired from a career in marketing 
and sales. His passion was his grandchildren and he is survived by four, 
Gabriel, Max, Bailey and Athen. He is also survived by his son MSgt Todd 
Carballo (Dr. Lindsey) and daughters Shelley Jordan (Clay) and Jennifer 
Rickerson (Jason). He was the the son-in-law of Dorothy and the late Wilbert 
Rapp, brother-in-law to Michael Rapp, Eddie Rapp and Pam (Rapp) Talley, stepson 
to the late Shirley M Carballo and stepbrother of Sandra Marti (Russell), Janet 
Carballo (Vincent), Sheila Mayeux (Barry) and the late Robert Carballo (JoAnn) 
and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a gathering in his 
honor at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), 
Slidell, LA on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm. A funeral mass 
will follow at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church, 72040 Maple St Abita 
Springs, LA 70420 at 3:00pm. 

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you perform a random act of kindness 
in his memory.
