He was the son of Clarence G Conrad, and Anna Ebeling Conrad. He was born in Sebatha, KS. His family ultimately moved to Salem, OR during the Great Depression. He served his country during World War II in the Navy, and later belonged to the Army Reserves. He graduated from Oregon State University with a Masters degree in Geology. He married the love of his life, Roberta Matthews Conrad on September 20, 1952. They then moved to Casper, WY where he began his 37 year career with Shell Oil Co. Their three children were all born in Casper. They later moved to Denver, CO, then to New Orleans, LA. During his time in New Orleans, he advanced to the position of Chief Geologist of Exploration for Shell’s Offshore Division, and was instrumental in numerous successful oil leases. He & Roberta moved to Mandeville, LA to enjoy their retirement years. They took many trips, including several cruises to distant shores. Clarence also enjoyed golfing, and watching the many birds that came to the feeders and flowers in his yard. He was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, and daughter Becky Conrad. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Roberta Conrad, two children Greg Conrad and Linda Conrad, both of Bend, OR. Also by a daughter-in-law, Beth Brown, wife of Greg, a grand-daughter Whitney Yohe (Sean), and two great grand- daughters, Isla and Stella Yohe of Ogden, UT. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Friday, March 8, 2013 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 at 12:00 PM with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Clarence F. Conrad to be made to the American Cancer Society, 2605 River Road, New Orleans, LA or to the National Audubon Society. ===================
