Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2013/st1303.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Mary Alice Morgan Johnson passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on March 19, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born 1943, in Folsom, Louisiana to the late Wilmer and Rita Morgan, and has been a resident of the Covington/Folsom area for all of her life. Mary cherished every moment of the past 33 years with her best friend and loving husband, George Delwood Johnson. She was a wonderful, loving mother to their four children: Jeffery “Jeff” Neal Johnson (Mary), Catherine “Cathy” Johnson Sweeney (Michael), Barbara “Barbie” Johnson Stevens, and Joseph “Joe” Waldron Johnson, Sr. She adored her six grandchildren: Aletia Bradshaw Martin (Christopher), Katie Lauren Stevens, Michael Joseph and Matthew Anthony Sweeney, Joseph “Joey” Waldron, Jr., Jordan Matthew, and Khylan Colter Johnson, and great-grandchildren: Benjamin Brougham, Sara Elizabeth Martin, and Jayden Necole Johnson. Mary is also survived by her beloved sisters Linda Morgan Brown, Mimi Morgan Brooks, and brother Jimmy Hano. She was preceded in death by her loving brother Richard “Dickie” Morgan. Mary leaves behind host of nieces and nephews as well as her extended family and close friends. Mary was a graduate of Covington High School and William Carey College where she received her Bachelors’ Degree in Nursing. She began her career at St. Tammany Hospital transferring to Highland Park Hospital when it opened in 1977. She was instrumental in the opening of Lakeview Regional Medical Center where she continued her passion for nursing until retirement in 2010. She was devoted member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for the past 52 years and after retirement was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. A wake is scheduled Friday, March 22, 2013 from 6pm to 9pm at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, #1 North Marigold Drive, Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours at the church prior to the funeral will be 10am to 11am. Interment at Fendalson Cemetery on North Willie Road, Folsom, Louisiana. The Family will receive guest following the burial at the Johnson family home. ===================
