Janet Filips Beck, 79, passed from this life into the arms of our Lord on April 
19, 2013 at 1:13 AM surrounded by her family and friends. 

She was born October 11, 1933 in Crofton NE. She graduated from Holy Trinity 
High School in Hartington, NE and went on to graduate from Sacred Heart School 
of Nursing in Yankton, SD. 

Janet is survived by her husband of 55 years, Killian F. Beck. She was a loving 
and devoted mother to Diane Beck, Michael Beck (Connie), Robert “Bobby” Beck, 
Carolyn Beck, Jane Beck Biggs (Mark), Jeffrey Beck (Ashley), and Amy Beck Goss 
(Chris). She was also a proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren: Evin & Amanda 
Beck; Graham, Hayden, & Payton Beck; Erin Dickman & Sophia Wiley; Brandon & 
Hannah Biggs; Caroline, Charlotte, & Camille Beck; and Savanna, Ethan, & Abby 
Goss. 

Janet’s joyful love for her family and friends are a legacy for all of her 
survivors to carry in her memory. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, father and her Aunt Dora, as well as a 
sister, Bonnie Garcia and a brother, Gerard Filips and grandson Joshua Beck. 

Janet was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Slidell, 
LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at 
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 400 Westchester Blvd., Slidell, LA 70458 
on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 11:00am.
Visitation will be held at church from 9:00am until 11:00am.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Slidell, LA.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Feed The Children, P.O. 36, Oklahoma City, OK, 
73101-0036, in her memory, preferred.
